Dharwad Devotion: Thousands Celebrate Mahashivaratri

Thousands of devotees gathered in Dharwad on Sunday to celebrate Mahashivaratri, transforming the city with a vibrant display of faith, music, and tradition. The ancient Someshwar Temple, dating back to the 13th century, was a significant venue, attracting a large number of devotees from early morning.

Throughout the day and into the night, sacred chants and the ringing of temple bells created an atmosphere of deep reverence. Devotees performed traditional rituals, offering milk, water, and bael leaves over the Shivalinga while many observed fasts. Neighborhoods across Dharwad hosted community gatherings and devotional songs, fostering a sense of unity.

A night-long classical and devotional music program, 'Shivasphurti,' at the Mudi Maruti Temple captivated audiences, further enriching the spiritual experience.
