In Chikkamagaluru district, two daughters recently honored their father by performing his final rites, an act that traditionally falls to sons or sons-in-law. The funeral for BS Vishwanath took place at the Hindu crematorium in Birur on Friday.
BV Aishwarya, one of Vishwanath's daughters, undertook the responsibility of conducting the rituals. She was supported by her sister and brother-in-law in this significant undertaking. This compassionate decision was made as Vishwanath had no male heirs to perform the ceremonies.
The event garnered praise from local leaders, including Savitha Ramesh, former president of the Town Muncipal Council. She commended the daughters for setting a powerful example and expressed that society will embrace such positive and forward-thinking actions when families are understanding and supportive.
