Deja Vu Birth: Dad Welcomes Second Child Unassisted
1 Sep
Summary
- Dad John Anderson delivered his second daughter at home.
- The baby, Saige-Elizabeth, arrived unexpectedly quickly.
- Paramedics arrived just minutes after both home births.

John Anderson, 39, experienced an extraordinary repeat event on August 14, 2026, when he delivered his second daughter, Saige-Elizabeth, at home. His partner, Adele Crisp, 34, was just 36 weeks and two days pregnant but went into active labour extremely quickly. The entire labour lasted only 21 minutes, with Saige-Elizabeth born at 3:55 am, weighing 6lb 4.5oz.
This event evoked strong feelings of déjà vu for Adele, as John had also delivered their first daughter, Georgia, at home in March 2022. Georgia arrived nearly six weeks early, making it the second time John unexpectedly became the midwife. Both babies arrived so quickly that paramedics were only able to attend after the births.
Saige-Elizabeth spent a week in the hospital, initially in NICU for jaundice and rapid breathing, before joining her sister at home. While Georgia had a longer hospital stay in 2022, both sisters are now safely home after their surprisingly swift arrivals.
