As of November 16, 2025, cruise lines are elevating their Mexico voyages by offering passengers a deeper connection to the country's rich cultural heritage. Leading the charge is Holland America Line, which is expanding its popular cultural ambassador program to all of its Mexico cruises sailing on the Nieuw Amsterdam ship during the 2025-2026 season.
Through a variety of engaging onboard activities led by two native Mexican cultural ambassadors, passengers can now learn about the traditions, flavors, and artistry that define Mexico's identity. The program includes cultural presentations, dance and language classes, arts and crafts workshops, and even a traditional Mexican game night. Complementing these immersive experiences, Holland America Line's destination-focused dining features local, fresh seafood and regional Mexican dishes, as well as special tequila tastings in collaboration with an award-winning distillery.
