Snowy Wedding: Meerut Couple Weds in Uttarakhand Blizzard

A couple from Meerut has gained widespread attention for their wedding ceremony held amid heavy snowfall in Uttarakhand's Rudraprayag district. The event took place on Basant Panchami, a day marked by the season's first substantial snowfall in the area.

The wedding was solemnized at the Triyuginarayan Temple, a site revered as the location of Lord Shiva and Mata Parvati's marriage. A viral video captured the bride in her red lehenga and the groom in his sherwani, both joyful as they walked through the deep snow following the ceremony.

Witnesses and online commentators have praised the couple's spirit, with many calling the wedding unforgettable. The area experienced its first snowfall of the year, covering numerous popular destinations like Auli and Mussoorie in a thick white blanket.

While the snowfall created a picturesque scene, it also led to transportation difficulties. Some wedding parties in adjacent areas had to travel considerable distances on foot due to blocked roads. Authorities are working to clear snow from roadways and have advised the public to avoid non-essential travel.
