The Oregon coast transformed into a haven for corgi lovers this past Saturday, June 27, as over 1,000 enthusiasts and 700 pups gathered for the "Corgi Beach Takeover." This popular annual fundraiser, held in Seaside, Oregon, generated more than $25,000 for the Oregon Humane Society. The event, co-hosted by the Portland Corgi Meet-up group and the Oregon Humane Society, featured a "Bark Trek: The Next Pup-eration" theme.
Attendees enjoyed a variety of activities, including corgi races, a costume contest, and music. Crumpet, a corgi hailing from Montana, emerged as the champion of the corgi races, marking her seventh appearance at the event and her third top-three finish. Participants traveled from across the country, with some even journeying from Australia.
This year's event built upon its success since its informal inception in 2013. Beyond the festivities, the event supported a charitable cause, with proceeds from the exclusive Short Legs IPA brewed by Pelican Brewing also benefiting the Oregon Humane Society. The gathering provided a fun-filled day for both the beloved "fluffy butts" and their devoted human companions.
