Summary
- New winter timetable begins December 14th.

- Engineering works will impact London Paddington services.

Great Western Railway has announced its new winter timetable, effective from December 14th, urging passengers to book Christmas travel in advance for the best fares. The updated schedule aims to respond to changing demand and enhance services across the network. While some essential repairs are planned during the festive period, their impact is expected to be less significant than in previous years.
Travellers are advised to book early and consider off-peak times for a more comfortable journey. The busiest travel days are anticipated to be December 22nd, 23rd, 27th, and 28th, with services between 10:00 AM and 2:00 PM GMT expected to be in highest demand. Passengers should also note earlier shutdown times on Christmas Eve and the usual cessation of services on Christmas Day and Boxing Day.
Significant track renewal work will commence from December 27th to January 4th, impacting services to and from London Paddington. During this period, only two out of four tracks will be operational, necessitating an amended timetable for affected routes. Journey planners are now updated with all necessary information, and advance fares are available for purchase.
