Chef Sam Holland, sibling to actor Tom Holland, is making his own mark in the culinary world by championing the unconventional act of dunking chocolate into tea. This initiative is part of a campaign celebrating National Chocolate Week, encouraging Brits to reconsider their traditional biscuit pairings.
New research indicates a growing preference for chocolate in tea, with 66% of British tea drinkers reporting they have tried it. Notably, four in five Gen Z tea drinkers prefer chocolate for dunking. The campaign also highlighted that 87% of tea drinkers have experienced the unfortunate event of losing a biscuit to the bottom of their mug.
Sam Holland himself admits to being a convert, having never dunked chocolate before joining the "Are You a Melt?" campaign. He advises a five-second dunk to achieve a partially melted state without losing the chocolate's structure. This unusual combination was promoted through free giveaways of Tony's Chocolonely and Yorkshire Tea at specific cafes in London, Leeds, and Greater Manchester until October 23, 2026.
