A groom in China's Anhui province recently chose a highly unconventional method to celebrate his wedding day: a procession featuring nine septic tank trucks. Pan Haonan, who joined his father's sewage treatment and transportation business in 2023, organized the unique event in his hometown of Suixi county.
Pan, who previously pursued a career in film editing, decided to transition into the family business after his own startup encountered difficulties. He now manages the septic tank truck operations while his father oversees online orders. His fiancée, Li Yaqing, enthusiastically supported the idea, viewing Pan's work as honest and a source of pride.
Thoroughly cleaned and adorned with decorative flowers, the septic tank trucks formed an unusual bridal convoy. Two of the trucks were from Pan's company, with the remaining seven borrowed from colleagues in the industry, who also offered their congratulations and support.
Pan expressed pride in his profession, emphasizing that despite the nature of the work, the income is legitimate and the field offers stability. He overcame initial parental concerns about the challenging and unclean aspects of the job, ultimately celebrating his union with a deeply personal and memorable event.
