Cate Blanchett and Andrew Upton’s former three-bedroom home in Melbourne's Prahran suburb has sold for more than $3 million. The couple originally purchased the property at 5 Trinian Street in 2006 for $745,000. Nearly two decades later, after undergoing renovations by Alwill Architecture, it returned to the market.

The renovated residence offers practical features such as solar panels and a water tank, alongside contemporary interiors. Its unique selling proposition was direct access to Victoria Gardens via a back gate, effectively extending the living space into the park. This feature, combined with its prime location, contributed to its high sale price.

Initially, the property had a price guide between $2.25 million and $2.45 million. However, it attracted significant interest, leading to a private sale that exceeded expectations. This outcome highlights a substantial return on investment for Blanchett and Upton on the property they held for almost 18 years.
