Summary

- Food pantry donations were collected for local residents.
- The next market season begins June 2026 with new events.

Mild weather embraced Canyon residents for the final event of the year hosted by the Canyon Farmers Market group at Main Street Square. The Merry Market on December 13th saw approximately 51 vendors offering diverse items, including fresh breads, baked goods, and Colorado pine trees from Leonard Farms, perfect for Christmas gifts. Attendees enjoyed the festive atmosphere around the Historical Randall County Courthouse, which featured a large Christmas tree and the nostalgic Sad Monkey Train.
Community spirit was evident as people brought food donations for the Market at Tierra Blanca, a local food pantry serving college students and the elderly. Liz Hensley, an organizer, deemed the event highly successful, expressing gratitude for community support and acknowledging the pleasant weather, though an indoor plan was prepared. Highlights included a popular gingerbread jelly and storytime hosted by the Canyon Area Library elves by the Sad Monkey train.
The Canyon Farmers Market is set to resume in early June 2026 and will run through September. The upcoming season includes a Spring Market, Autumnfest, Moon Market, and the return of the Merry Market, alongside regular Saturday markets from 8 a.m. to 12 p.m. More than 100 vendors are expected to participate, offering produce, eggs, jewelry, and other crafts, continuing Canyon's tradition of vibrant community events.
