Nose Job Nightmare: £39k Spent After Botched Turkey Surgery

An Australian influencer, Kim Hartnett, has detailed her traumatic experience with cosmetic surgery, which led to three operations and approximately £39,000 in expenses. Her initial rhinoplasty in Turkey, costing around £6,100 plus travel, resulted in a severe infection and subsequent collapse of her nose. Hartnett, a salon owner and mother of two, expressed regret over her casual decision to undergo the procedure, initially believing she only needed minor adjustments.

Weeks after her first surgery, Hartnett suspected complications despite her surgeon's assurances of swelling. A second operation initially seemed successful, but a severe infection followed, causing her nose to collapse and develop deformities. This period led her to withdraw from social media and public life due to the physical and emotional toll. The uncertainty surrounding her recovery and the possibility of further surgery was mentally exhausting.

A third surgery, performed in Europe, cost an additional £18,000 plus travel, bringing the total expenditure to roughly £39,000. After accounting for refunds, she remains about £29,000 out of pocket. While grateful her nose is now repaired, Hartnett wishes she had never pursued the surgery, preferring her natural appearance. She advocates for careful consideration before undergoing cosmetic procedures, emphasizing that chasing perfection can lead to irreversible consequences.
