Bollywood Star Sonu Sood Celebrates Gurpurab with Fond Memories

As the nation celebrates the birth anniversary of Guru Nanak Dev on November 5, 2025, Bollywood actor Sonu Sood reflects on the profound impact of the Guru's teachings on his life. Sonu, who hails from Punjab, recalls the joyous Gurpurab festivities of his childhood, filled with community spirit and selfless service.

"The teachings that we learnt from Guru Nanak were all about seva, selfless service, and empathy," Sonu says. He explains how the Guru's message of "Ek Onkar" - that God is one - has resonated deeply with him since his youth. Sonu fondly remembers the bustling langars, where people would come together to distribute and partake in the community meals without any expectation in return. "Seeing the happiness on their faces was the yardstick which proved that we did good," he says.
