Participants frequently described Bognor Regis as 'tired' and in need of 'major rejuvenation.' The town received particularly poor ratings for its seafront, attractions, shopping, and overall value for money.
In response, Arun District Council defended the town, pointing to its Seaside Award-winning East Beach and amenities like Hotham Park. The council stated that a small survey sample cannot represent the views of the town's supporters.
The local authority also highlighted ongoing regeneration efforts, including improvements to the Alexandra Arts Centre, and noted the positive influence of the University of Chichester campus.
