Summary
- Bumpy, a blind cat, received life-changing eye surgery.
- Over £8,000 was raised by a cat charity for her treatment.
- She has found a permanent home with a caring family.

A blind cat named Bumpy has successfully undergone crucial eye surgery and found a permanent home, thanks to the efforts of a dedicated cat charity. Bumpy was born in Oxfordshire with underdeveloped eyes, meaning she has never been able to see. The charity launched an appeal which successfully raised more than £8,000 to fund her "much needed surgery."
This surgery was vital to remove eye tissue, preventing future pain and infection. A spokesperson for Cats Protection Cherwell team stated that Bumpy was surrendered by her owner who could not provide the necessary care. Despite her challenges, Bumpy is described as a loving and resilient kitten who "takes it all in her stride."
Bumpy's eyes have now been sealed shut as part of her recovery process. She is doing well and is expected to join her new family shortly after being spayed, fully vaccinated, and microchipped. Her adoptive family is well-prepared, having previously cared for a deaf cat, indicating their suitability for a cat with additional needs. The charity is optimistic about Bumpy living a comfortable and joyful life and extended thanks to all donors.
