Scunny Bikers, a group of diverse individuals, recently completed their 13th annual Christmas toy run. Approximately 100 motorcyclists, dressed in festive attire, rode to Scunthorpe General Hospital to deliver a variety of gifts to children.
The presents, which included toys, sweets, pyjamas, and toiletries, were generously donated by community members and local businesses. Senior staff nurse Gemma Lawrence noted that the gifts helped make the children's hospital stay more enjoyable and provided them with items to take home.
Organiser Gavin Stubbs expressed his joy in being able to bring happiness to the children, highlighting the group's commitment to giving back to the community. Ward manager Vikki McAlpine emphasized the particular difficulty for children during the holiday season and how the event helps distract them from their medical treatments.
