For Marathi residents in Bengaluru, a burgeoning community network has evolved into a vital support system. Initially formed 15 years ago for cultural celebrations, Bangalore Marathi now offers extensive employment assistance, professional networking, matrimony services, and housing help. This expansion has significantly eased the transition for newcomers.
Marathi Connect, a key initiative, actively promotes job referrals across various industries and hosts monthly entrepreneur conferences and social meetups. This platform has been instrumental in helping individuals like Harish Bhosale find stable employment after career breaks and supporting entrepreneurs like Varsha Barde in growing their businesses.
The community's digital presence is substantial, with over 113,000 Instagram followers and 20,000 Telegram members. This online network facilitates connections for homestays, food suppliers, and artisans, extending support beyond individual job placements.
Bangalore Marathi also assists with daily needs, from finding plumbers to locating affordable housing, as experienced by commercial artist Vivek Yawalkar. The network has become an extended family for many, fostering a sense of belonging in a new city.
