Elite Bengaluru Attendees Leave Quiz Night in Trash

A Bengaluru resident shared photos online of a chaotic scene following a quiz night at a venture capital event. The images depicted a venue strewn with disposable cups and plates, highlighting what the poster described as poor civic sense among affluent attendees.

The attendee who posted the images noted that those present were likely among India's top earners and most educated individuals. Despite the presence of trash bins, the room was left in disarray, suggesting a reliance on others to clean up after them.

The post quickly gained traction on social media, sparking conversations about littering and disregard for public spaces across different socioeconomic strata. Many users expressed similar frustrations and debated the root causes of such behavior, with some pointing to upbringing and a lack of early habit formation.

Online discussions also included suggestions for event organizers, such as starting events with visual reminders or showing the post's images as a call to action. The incident underscored a broader debate about civic responsibility in India, particularly concerning privileged groups.
