Bengaluru is set to resonate with the spirit of Dasara as various communities, including Bengali and Gujarati residents, commence their traditional celebrations from October 15 to 21. The North Bangalore Cultural Samithi is marking its 49th Durga Puja with the theme 'Shatadal,' symbolizing purity and harmony, featuring traditional rituals and a festive food fair.
Meanwhile, the Jayamahal Cultural Association celebrates its 72nd Durgotsav with 'Sabekiyana - Tradition Relived.' This event will highlight the unique blend of Bengali and Kannada cultures, notably featuring Dhunuchi Naach alongside Karnataka's traditional Dollu Kunitha drum dance on Maha Ashtami, October 19.
Jagriti Bangiyo Cultural Association will host Durga Puja with a special emphasis on empowering women by inviting 'Mahila Dhaki' – female dhol players from West Bengal. This initiative aims to provide financial support and recognition to these artists.
The Gujarati community is also bringing its famed Dandiya celebrations to Palace Grounds, Gate Number 2, expecting over 3,000 attendees daily. They will also host Dandiya Raas 2026 from October 16 to 18 at Vistar Resort in Electronic City, featuring traditional singers and orchestras from Gujarat.
