Manjunath CH, 72, incorporated car-style seats, doors with windows, and a partition glass for enhanced passenger and driver separation.
The modifications also include a sturdier roof for safety and air conditioning, a significant comfort upgrade for Bengaluru's unpredictable weather. Manjunath hopes to add a television and CCTV cameras in the future, believing such innovation suits Bengaluru.
Having driven autos for over five decades, Manjunath takes immense pride in his profession and has never overcharged or refused a ride. He continues to rely on street hails rather than ride-hailing platforms, despite declining trip numbers and challenging road conditions.
