The shopping fervour is evident in market hubs like Ganapati Galli and Ravivar Peth, where demand for decorative items, rangoli powders, and puja materials remains strong.
Key festival days are being observed with Dhana Trayodashi having commenced, followed by Naraka Chaturdashi and the main Deepavali Amavasya. Sales of traditional items like earthen diyas, lanterns, and sky lanterns are brisk. Vendors are also reporting healthy demand for flowers, fruits, sugarcane, and banana stalks, with some traders noting better business this year compared to the previous one.
Beyond traditional goods, clothing stores are witnessing heavy footfall, and there's a notable pick-up in demand for gold, two-wheelers, and cars.
