Chester Walsh, a 29-year-old prop maker, has constructed an extraordinary spaceship-inspired backyard retreat in Northamptonshire, England. This immersive hangout, built over three months, cost approximately £9,000 (or $12,000) and features a bar, a convertible seating/bed area, and a screen simulating a view into space.
Walsh, who has a passion for sci-fi and comic books, drew inspiration from various Star Wars elements, particularly the Intersystem Transport from Galaxy's Edge for the overall shape. He managed most of the construction himself, with a professional electrician handling the electrical installations.
The interior design was heavily influenced by the Millennium Falcon from Solo: A Star Wars Story and elements from Ahsoka Tano's ship. The space includes a bar, smooth interior paneling, and flooring inspired by Disney's Star Wars: Galactic Starcruiser.
Walsh documented his build extensively online, with a condensed video of the entire project amassing over 2.5 million views. This inspired many others to undertake similar creative projects, highlighting the broad appeal of his unique backyard spaceship.
