A woman delivered her baby unexpectedly in a cinema during a screening of Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone. Molly Connah, 32, went into labour about 40 minutes into the film at the Cineworld in Broughton, Flintshire. She gave birth to a healthy baby girl, Elsie Lamb, weighing 7lb. The birth certificate for Elsie now officially states 'Cineworld Broughton' as her place of birth, much to the family's surprise.
Cinema staff, including manager Michelle McClean and team leader Leah Prytherch, responded quickly to the emergency. They provided assistance, gathering towels and sheets to shield Molly during the delivery while paramedics were on their way. Molly expressed immense gratitude for their actions, describing them as 'absolutely amazing'.
Paramedics arrived shortly after the birth, and Molly and Elsie were taken to Wrexham Maelor Hospital. Both mother and baby are reported to be doing well. The family has since returned to the cinema to thank the staff personally, receiving cinema passes to finish the movie they missed.
