As of October 16, 2025, the city of Ayodhya is gearing up for the highly anticipated 'Deepotsav' festival, which is set to take place over the next three days. The enthusiasm among devotees has reached a fever pitch, with hotels in the city being fully booked as early as three days before the event.
According to local hoteliers, all rooms at hotels in Ayodhya are completely reserved for October 18 and 19, with the bookings for the rest of the month also filling up rapidly. Volunteers from the Dr. Ram Manohar Lohia Awadh University have already begun the preparations, setting out to arrange over 26 lakh diyas (earthen lamps) across 56 ghats, aiming to set a new world record.
The high level of interest has also led to a surge in demand for online booking of darshan at the Raja Ram Darbaar. The Ram Mandir Trust's website has reported a record number of bookings, with all available slots being fully reserved until October 29. Devotees from across the country and even abroad are securing passes through the Trust's website, making it nearly impossible to find any open slots.
To ensure a smooth darshan experience, the Ram Mandir Trust is issuing both online and offline VIP passes, with approximately 300 online and 3,000 offline passes being distributed daily, including for morning and night aartis.
