In the post, McNaught argued that social media feeds tend to focus only on the extremes in India, while ignoring the richness and warmth that make the country remarkable. He acknowledged that India has its challenges, as any nation of 1.5 billion people would, but said that reducing it to stereotypes is unfair.

"Social media has done India wrong. There is a negativity bias, and for India, this means people film only its extremes. In reality, India is a beautiful country full of rich culture, diverse landscapes, and amazing people," McNaught wrote in the caption.

He went on to say that he has good Indian friends and it's sad to see how the country is portrayed to the world. However, he promised to share more positive glimpses of India over the next three months, challenging the dominant narrative.
