Anne Robinson Quits Cotswolds After 40 Years

Eighty-one-year-old television personality Anne Robinson has announced her departure from her cherished £4 million Cotswolds barn, a property she has owned for approximately 40 years. This significant move, which she calls a 'heartbreaking decision,' is driven by her wish to be closer to her daughter, Emma, particularly as she enters her eighties.

Robinson, who will turn 82 in the autumn, expressed a desire not to burden her daughter should she become infirm, stating she wants to avoid any potential worry for Emma. She has secured a new residence: a fourth-floor terrace apartment with views of Hyde Park in London, accompanied by a smaller attached flat. Importantly, this new home is just a few streets away from her daughter.

Reflecting on her time in the Cotswolds, Robinson noted considerable changes, particularly in Bibury, which she believes is now 'overrun with day trippers.' She also commented on the growing number of celebrities and tech figures drawn to the area, humorously referring to it as 'Sili-Coln-Valley.' Despite this, she acknowledged Jeremy Clarkson's efforts to support local farmers.

While saddened to leave the countryside, Robinson is embracing the opportunities in the capital. She and Emma have planned visits to cultural institutions like the Tate and have lined up theatre productions to enjoy together.
