Anaya Bangar's Gender Affirming Surgery: Family's Full Support

Trans-rights advocate and cricketer Anaya Bangar is set to undergo gender-affirming surgery in March. This significant step in her transition journey, vaginoplasty, will take place in Thailand. Bangar will require at least a month for the procedure and recovery, followed by a six-month hiatus from cricket. She has received guidance from designer Saisha Shinde and actress Trinetra Haldar Gummaraju, who underwent similar procedures.

The decision to proceed with surgery was influenced by five years of waiting, coupled with newfound financial stability and, crucially, the complete support of her parents. Anaya shared that her father's realization of her serious commitment to her identity, influenced by public respect shown to her, was a turning point for their acceptance. Her father is now fully covering the surgery expenses.
