Brides-to-be in West Yorkshire can find their dream wedding attire at a fraction of the usual cost, thanks to a specialized charity shop. The Holmfirth Bridal Suite, situated atop the Forget Me Not Children's Hospice store in Huddersfield, offers hundreds of pre-loved and donated wedding dresses.
Launched in February 2025, the boutique aims to provide the full bridal shopping experience without the hefty price tag. Founder Sharon Scott transformed a former storage room into a welcoming suite, focusing on making each bride feel like a princess. Dresses are priced between £50 and £750.
The hospice relies heavily on fundraising, with 80% of its £6.5 million annual budget coming from donations. The bridal suite plays a crucial role in this funding by selling donated wedding dresses, many of which are unworn or from cancelled weddings.
Customers travel from across the UK, drawn by the affordable luxury and the opportunity to support a vital children's hospice. Many brides also choose to donate their own dresses back to the shop after their wedding, continuing the cycle of giving.
