Aamir Khan's fitness coach, Shivohaam, disclosed that the actor shed 20 kilograms for his role in 'Laal Singh Chaddha'. The transformation saw Khan's weight decrease from 92 kg to 72 kg over a nine-month period, achieved through fundamental dietary practices. His coach highlighted that Khan's preferred foods, including dal, rice, and khichdi, were integral to the process, debunking the need for fat-loss supplements.
Clinical nutritionist Dt Gulnaaz Shaikh elaborated that rice is often unfairly blamed for weight gain. She emphasized that the key lies in overall calorie consumption, portion sizes, and the accompaniments to the meal, rather than rice itself. A balanced plate featuring dal, vegetables, and protein can effectively support weight loss goals.
Shaikh also noted that consistent eating patterns and overall lifestyle, including snacks, beverages, and activity levels, are crucial for successful weight management. She affirmed that a meal of dal and rice, when balanced with adequate protein, fiber from dal, and carbohydrates from rice, along with vegetables, can be a viable option for those aiming to lose weight, stressing the importance of proportion.
Furthermore, Shaikh explained that a well-prepared khichdi, with a good ratio of dal to rice and vegetables, can also be a practical and balanced meal. She reiterated that supplements are not essential for fat loss, which fundamentally relies on a structured diet, proper portions, adequate nutrient intake, regular exercise, and consistency. These basic elements should always take precedence over any advertised fat-loss products.
