Brazilian entrepreneur Georgios Frangulis, the visionary behind the global açaí brand Oakberry, announced his engagement to world No. 1 tennis player Aryna Sabalenka in March 2026. Frangulis, originally from São Paulo and of Greek descent, established Oakberry in 2016, transforming it into an international business with over 800 stores in 50 countries.
His entrepreneurial journey began after he left law school, inspired by his time in the United States and his passion for açaí as functional nutrition. By mid-2026, Oakberry had secured $67 million in capital and maintained brand consistency across diverse global locations.
Frangulis and Sabalenka's relationship commenced in January 2024 when she joined Oakberry as a brand ambassador. Their connection deepened through the challenging period following the death of Sabalenka's ex-boyfriend in March 2024, with Frangulis providing significant support.
Sabalenka herself had hinted at their evolving relationship, and Frangulis proposed on March 3, 2026, in Indian Wells, California. The engagement ring, a custom piece featuring a 12-carat oval diamond surrounded by emeralds, is estimated to be worth up to $1 million.
Frangulis also launched a fashion brand, The Gride, earlier in 2026, honoring his Greek heritage. In addition to his business ventures, he is a Porsche GT3 Cup car racer, finding a unique way to recharge amidst his global commitments.
