Summary
- Young man diagnosed with aggressive blood cancer at 25.
- Experienced remission, then secondary brain cancer diagnosis.
- Shares story to show cancer can affect anyone, regardless of age.

At 25, Marco Choi was diagnosed with diffuse large B-cell lymphoma (DLBCL), an aggressive blood cancer. Initially dismissing symptoms like headaches and dark stools as side effects of gym supplements, his condition worsened, leading to a collapse at work in December 2023. He received his DLBCL diagnosis in January 2024.
Following six cycles of chemotherapy, Marco achieved remission in July 2024. However, just a month later, he suffered a seizure, revealing a secondary diagnosis of central nervous system (CNS) lymphoma with a brain tumor. Doctors gave him a grim prognosis, suggesting he might not survive past the New Year.
Marco underwent further intensive treatment, including chemotherapy, stem cell transplant, and radiotherapy. By the summer of 2025, he was told he was in remission again. Now 28, Marco is an ambassador for Blood Cancer UK, aiming to demonstrate that blood cancer can affect young, active individuals, contrary to common perceptions.
