Young Dad's Cancer Ignored: Silent Signs Revealed
2 Feb
Summary
- A 31-year-old father ignored early bowel cancer signs like bleeding.
- He experienced night sweats, fatigue, and bowel habit changes.
- He is now in remission and raises awareness for younger people.

Chris Kirt, a father of three from Northamptonshire, was diagnosed with stage two bowel cancer at just 31 years old. He initially dismissed early signs, such as blood after using the toilet and night sweats, attributing them to less serious conditions. Persistent bleeding and overwhelming fatigue were also initially overlooked.
His symptoms worsened, leading to a colonoscopy that revealed a significant tumor. Doctors were highly confident it was cancer, a diagnosis confirmed by biopsy. This devastating news came shortly after he proposed to his partner and while they were caring for their three-month-old daughter.
Chris underwent robotic surgery to remove a third of his bowel. Fortunately, by December 2024, he was informed the cancer had not spread and he was in remission. Now 33, he shares his story on TikTok and has created a cancer preparation kit.
