In Yamunanagar district, a young girl diagnosed with encephalocele, a rare congenital condition affecting the skull and brain, has received significant financial aid for her treatment. The National Child Health Programme (RBSK), part of the National Health Mission, has sanctioned Rs 2.75 lakh for her surgery and ongoing care.
The infant, born on September 16, 2025, was identified by local health teams and referred to PGIMER, Chandigarh. Despite initial challenges with consistent follow-up visits by her parents, the District Early Intervention Centre (DEIC) at Civil Hospital, Yamunanagar, brought the case to the attention of the NHM.
Following extensive counseling, the child's parents were provided with a cheque of Rs 2.75 lakh by Yamunanagar DC Preeti. This support aims to ensure no child is denied essential medical treatment due to financial constraints. Residents are encouraged to register children with congenital disorders or serious health issues with the DEIC or RBSK mobile health teams.
