20 Feb
Summary
- Coalway Road Surgery will move to Warstones Health Centre on March 27.
- The new site offers improved accessibility and on-site services.
- Patients have expressed worries about travel difficulties and wait times.

Coalway Road Surgery, serving 4,726 patients in Wolverhampton, is set to relocate to Warstones Health Centre on Pinfold Grove by the end of March. The new facility is conveniently located just 0.7 miles from the current site, a short drive or walk away and accessible by public transport.
The relocation, approved by the Black Country Integrated Care Board, aims to offer enhanced patient care with improved facilities. This includes on-site phlebotomy and anti-coagulant services, alongside better accessibility features like disabled parking and ramps. The current premises required substantial work, making the move necessary for operational efficiency.
Despite reassurances that the existing clinical team will move with the surgery, some patients have voiced concerns. Worries center on the impact on those with mobility issues and potential increases in appointment waiting times at the new location. The ICB stated that all patient feedback from public meetings was considered prior to approval.
The final day at the current Coalway Road premises is scheduled for Friday, March 27. Patients who are content with the move need not take any action. Those wishing to register with a different practice are advised to consult the NHS website or contact a dedicated helpline.
