Wolverhampton Adult Care Earns "Good" CQC Rating

Wolverhampton's adult social care services have been awarded a "good" rating by the Care Quality Commission (CQC) in its latest assessment. The report commended the service for supporting residents to lead healthier lives, praising its effectiveness in safeguarding, community partnerships, governance, and management.

Inspectors noted that many residents reported positive care experiences, emphasizing strong bonds with staff and personalized support. Reablement and intermediate care services were also positively received for aiding independence post-illness or hospital stay. Safeguarding services and the carers team received specific commendations for their responsiveness and respectful approach.

Despite the overall positive assessment, the CQC identified areas needing enhancement, specifically concerning the experiences of carers. Limitations were noted in accessing respite and quality care options, alongside instances of inconsistent communication. Councillor Linda Leach acknowledged these points, stating the authority is committed to further improvements and strengthening support systems for all residents.
