Summary
- Whoop integrates wearable data with specialized blood tests.
- New features offer hormonal symptom insights and predictions.
- The Women's Health Specialized Blood Biomarker Panel launches in April.
The human performance company Whoop is expanding its offerings for women, whose membership share has grown significantly year-over-year. Two key initiatives have been launched: an updated Hormonal Symptom Insights and Predictions feature within the app, and a new Women's Health Specialized Blood Biomarker Panel.
These advancements aim to provide a holistic view of women's health by correlating data from the Whoop wearable, such as sleep and skin temperature, with bloodwork results. The app update offers personalized menstrual cycle predictions and symptom pattern analysis, helping users adjust routines accordingly.
Launching in April, exclusively in the US, the Women's Health Specialized Panel will focus on 11 key biomarkers. These tests will offer insights into hormones, transitions like perimenopause, menstrual cycles, bone health, nutrient levels, and thyroid function, costing $299 and available via the Whoop app.
While not covered by insurance, the Advanced Labs blood panel is HSA/FSA eligible, though users should confirm eligibility with their provider. This new focus underscores a broader trend in health tech to address historically underrepresented areas in women's health research.
