15 Nov
Summary
- Whizz Kidz charity faces unprecedented funding crisis
- Over 1,000 children currently waiting for assistance
- Family with son Caius, diagnosed with spina bifida, in need of mobility aids

As of November 15th, 2025, the Whizz Kidz charity is facing an unprecedented funding crisis, forcing it to close its waiting list for the first time in 35 years. Over 1,000 children are currently waiting for the charity's assistance, and more families are desperate to apply.
One such family is that of 43-year-old Chris and his son Caius, who was diagnosed with spina bifida in utero at 22 weeks old. Caius underwent an 8.5-hour surgery shortly after birth to close the hole in his back, and his parents were warned he might have mobility, bowel, and bladder issues, or might not survive. However, Caius has defied the odds and is now in need of a wheelchair to maintain his independence.
