Sarah-Jayne Crawford, a 32-year-old woman from Antrim, Northern Ireland, has shared her alarming experience with weight-loss injections, Wegovy. Initially seeking to lose weight for her wedding, she began the injections in August 2024. After increasing the dosage to 1mg over 12 weeks, she developed severe upper abdominal pain and vomiting.
Her symptoms culminated in a jet-black tongue and intense mouth discomfort, accompanied by sulfurous burps. Seeking medical attention at Antrim Area Hospital in December 2024, scans revealed multiple gallstones obstructing her bile duct and diverticulitis. Consequently, she underwent gallbladder removal surgery on February 10, 2025.
