Weight Loss Jab Led to Rotting Gallbladder

Edd Langmead, a 44-year-old father, embarked on a weight loss journey in May 2025, seeking a 'quick fix' due to a lengthy NHS waiting list for medication. He opted for Mounjaro purchased online, which aided in a significant weight loss of 5st 13lb within a year, reducing his weight to 14st 5lbs and alleviating back pain.

In early March 2026, Langmead experienced severe abdominal pain he initially attributed to trapped wind. The pain escalated rapidly, forcing his partner to call an ambulance. At the hospital, doctors diagnosed him with gangrenous cholecystitis, a severe infection causing gallbladder tissue death, which had spread to his stomach and lungs.

This critical condition necessitated immediate surgery on March 13, 2026, to remove his gallbladder. Doctors indicated the infection was likely linked to his rapid weight loss. Langmead, who remained hospitalized for four days, now emphasizes the potential dangers of unregulated weight loss treatments.

He strongly advises others to obtain weight loss injections solely through their GP. Langmead highlighted that online sources often omit crucial risks associated with these powerful medications, urging regular monitoring and blood tests to prevent severe health consequences like his own.
