Ten Ayush centers in Wayanad are currently being upgraded to meet the stringent standards of the National Accreditation Board for Hospitals and Healthcare Providers (NABH). This initiative is part of a broader, third-phase assessment aimed at elevating Ayush Health and Wellness Centres across the state.
The selected centers include seven Ayurveda facilities and three Homoeopathy centers, all located within the Wayanad district. Expert teams are evaluating these facilities on critical parameters such as patient safety, infection control, and clinical protocols.
The assessment also scrutinizes essential medicines, infrastructure, staff training, and sanitation. Officials believe that attaining NABH accreditation will standardize healthcare services, significantly improving patient care quality.
This accreditation is anticipated to strengthen public trust in Ayurveda and Homoeopathy by ensuring these centers adhere to nationally recognized quality and safety benchmarks. The process is ongoing as of June 28, 2026.
