For adults, vitamin D's role shifts from growth to bone health maintenance. Once growth plates close in the late teenage years, height is no longer modifiable. While vitamin D supplementation is often necessary as dietary intake and sun exposure may be insufficient, its effect on stature is limited to developmental years.
