Superintendent of Police S Jahnavi announced that mandatory BMI-based obesity tests will soon be implemented for police personnel in Vijayanagara district. This measure underscores the critical need for physical fitness and mental resilience among those responsible for maintaining law and order.
The initiative was highlighted during the inauguration of a 15-day free yoga training camp at the DAR Police Parade Ground. Organized by the Patanjali Yoga Samiti for the Hosapete subdivision, the camp focuses on the benefits of yoga and pranayama for reducing body fat and enhancing mental stability.
Jahnavi encouraged continuous daily practice among staff, noting that the training will expand to other subdivisions. More than 200 police personnel, including senior officers, participated in the opening session of the camp, which runs daily for two weeks.
