Victoria Hospital in Bengaluru is poised to inaugurate its new 10-storey 'Q-block' on May 2, a development that commenced construction nearly seven years prior. This significant expansion will increase the hospital's bed capacity by 629, bringing the total to 1,629. The new facility is expected to alleviate long waiting times for the hospital's daily average of 700-1,000 outpatients.
The first five floors of the Q-block will accommodate general wards for departments such as surgery, orthopaedics, and medicine. The subsequent two floors are designated for special wards and operation theatres, with an additional floor allocated for a surgical complex featuring eight operation theatres. Discussions are underway to convert another floor into an ICU complex, though the exact configuration is yet to be finalized.
