Broadcaster's Daughter Loses Cancer Battle

The daughter of veteran Seven News broadcaster Rob Brough, Jess Willmott, has passed away after a difficult battle with aggressive cancer. Willmott, a mother of three, died recently, just a month after receiving an all-clear from breast cancer, only to then be diagnosed with a rapid brain tumor. Her husband, Tammen, shared the tragic news, emphasizing the immeasurable loss and her strength and resilience throughout her illness.

Brough, a familiar face on Australian television since the 1970s, had stepped back from his regional Queensland on-air role in late 2024. He made the decision to prioritize spending time with his daughter and her young family, assisting with raising her three children on the Sunshine Coast. He had previously spoken about his daughter's initial breast cancer diagnosis four years prior, which led to his extended leave from his broadcasting career.
