16 Aug
Summary
- Listeria bacteria found in pasta salads from Asda and Morrisons.
- Red Clover Seeds recalled due to dangerous E. coli contamination.
- Children's party balloons recalled for cancer-causing chemicals.

Consumers in the UK are alerted to several urgent product recalls issued over the past two weeks due to potential health and safety risks. Three pasta salad products from Asda and Morrisons have been recalled because of possible Listeria monocytogenes contamination. This bacteria can cause listeriosis, a serious infection particularly dangerous for vulnerable groups.
A recall is also in effect for Rapunzel bioSnacky Red Clover Seeds for Sprouts and Seedlings due to the presence of E. coli (STEC). This strain can lead to severe illness, including haemolytic uremic syndrome, which can be fatal.
Further recalls include Lay's Sour Cream & Dill Crisps from Home Bargains due to undeclared milk and wheat allergens. A hand-painted glass jug from Marks and Spencer has been withdrawn over concerns it could shatter. B&Q has recalled a tabletop fan (Model FT23A) because of electric shock and fire risks stemming from a faulty oscillation mechanism.
Simple's Kind to Skin Micellar Cleansing Water (730ml) in specific batches is being recalled due to potential microbiological contamination, risking eye irritation. Most alarmingly, Eurowrap party balloons are recalled due to containing carcinogenic N-nitrosamines and N-nitrosatable substances, posing a severe risk to children. Consumers are advised to stop using these products immediately and return them for a full refund.
