13 Feb
Summary
- Over 1.4 million NHS workers will get a 3.3% pay rise.
- The pay increase is effective from April.
- Inflation was 3.4% in December but forecast to drop.

More than 1.4 million National Health Service employees in Britain are set to receive a 3.3% pay increase starting from April. This adjustment follows a recommendation from an independent pay review body.
The pay review body emphasized that the 3.3% uplift is crucial for supporting recruitment, retention, and morale across the health service. This pay rise applies to staff in England, Wales, and Northern Ireland.
While inflation was recorded at 3.4% in December, the Bank of England anticipates it will decrease to approximately 2% by April and remain near this target for the next three years. The government has assured that this award, which exceeds initial estimates, will be financed within the current health budget without impacting frontline services.
