Louise Prashad, a recipient of the British Citizen Award, has been recognized for her remarkable dedication to promoting organ donation following a life-saving liver transplant. In 2016, she faced a critical health crisis due to acute fatty liver of pregnancy, receiving a transplant just hours from death. Although she lost her twin babies, Prashad was inspired by her donor and the medical care she received.
She has since become a fervent advocate, raising more than £350,000 for charities like Tommy's, Sands, and St James's Hospital in Leeds. Prashad has also completed over 350 running events and delivered more than 600 educational talks. Her commitment extends to international competitions, where she has represented Great Britain at the World Transplant Games and is set to compete in the European Transplant Games in the Netherlands in June.
