The Geethananda Foundation, established by Anand C. Kunder and Geeta Kunder, has made a substantial donation to the Government Mother and Child Hospital in Udupi. The couple provided operation theatre equipment valued at ₹5,01,648.
This generous contribution was formally recognized at the hospital premises on a Friday. Mr. Kunder expressed his longstanding commitment to supporting health, education, and environmental sectors, preferring to assist quietly through his available resources.
Previously, the foundation has aided students from economically weaker sections by providing free notebooks, uniforms, and scholarships. They also actively promote environmental conservation by distributing free saplings to schools.
The hospital administration, including administrative medical officer Sandeep and District Surgeon H. Ashok, expressed immense gratitude for the equipment, noting its immediate benefit and assured proper utilization. The donation was prompted by a recent need for equipment costing approximately ₹5 lakh.
