After the procedure, which involved general anesthesia, Consuelos was feeling the effects of the drugs. He shared that he had the idea to set up his and wife Kelly Ripa's 22-year-old son, Joaquin, with the "adorable" and "really, really cute" nurse who was caring for him. However, Consuelos said he ultimately kept his mouth shut and didn't ask the nurse any personal questions.
Ripa confirmed that when Consuelos returned home, he was "hungry and wild," talking about his matchmaking plans for Joaquin. Fortunately, the colonoscopy results were positive, and Consuelos doesn't need to have another one for 10 years, which Ripa joked meant he had "the best colon, the greatest colon they've ever seen."
The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention recommends that everyone get screened for colon cancer every 10 years once they turn 45, with earlier and more frequent screenings recommended for those with certain medical conditions or a family history of colorectal issues.
