A 49-year-old woman, Jenny Palmer, recently ran the Taunton Half Marathon topless to raise awareness and funds for the breast clinic at Musgrove Park Hospital in Taunton. Having undergone a mastectomy over seven years ago, Palmer aimed to shed light on breast cancer and support the clinic that treated her. Although England Athletics rules prevented her from receiving an official time, she finished the race in two hours and 10 minutes, aided by pre-arrangement with police to avoid indecent exposure concerns. Organizers found a workaround to allow her participation, celebrating the awareness and positivity she generated. Palmer expressed immense gratitude for the overwhelming support received from spectators and organizers alike. The event has successfully raised over £700 to date for the hospital's breast clinic.
